Following the reveal in last week’s Weekly Shonen Jump, Bandai Namco shared a first look at a new gameplay video and trailer for the upcoming battle royale title, My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble.
Ultra Rumble is a 24-player team-based battle royale, where players take on different My Hero Academia characters and use various Quirks on the battlefield. The Quirks influence a character’s strengths in offense, support, and disruption. Each one has its strengths and weaknesses that you’ll learn over time. There are also Skill Cards that buff up your Quirks. You can find these scattered throughout the stages, and they allow you to power up Quirk Skills of your choice.
The game allows you to choose between playing as a Heroes or Villains. The Heroes must rescue citizens that the Villains attack, and both sides work as teams with a total of 24 players.
Bandai Namco will host a closed beta test only for the PlayStation 4 version in Japan from February 2 until February 6. The beta will feature the following 12 confirmed characters:

Introducing the game are Bandai Namco assistant producers Soichiro Morizumi and Takuma Furukado. Joining them is V-Jump editor Victory Asada. The three team up with Morizumi as Deku, Asada as Bakugo, and Furukado as All Might.
Bandai Namco has yet to announce a release date for My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble. The game will be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Between Ultra Rumble and Dragon Ball: The Breakers, it looks like anime fans have a couple of quirky games to look forward to this year.
