My Hero Academia Ultra Rumble announced as a battle royale for Switch & other platforms

The first major anime game announcement of 2022 is here with a reveal of My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble for Nintendo Switch and other platforms in the latest issue of Weekly Jump.

We got a first look through leaked scans from a now-deleted Tweet by @Atsushi101X. Check out the saved scans below:

It says in giant letters that development has already started and that Bandai Namco will soon host a closed beta test. The game will feature multiplayer action with teams and up to 24 players.

We also got a look at some more images in the magazine. Unfortunately, the Famitsu issue didn’t come with any further gameplay details. So far, it appears that Midoriya, Bakugo, and Todoroki are playable. It also shows All Might and Shigaraki, but we’re not sure if they’ll be playable. The last My Hero Academia games were My Hero One’s Justice and its sequel, My Hero One’s Justice 2.

My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble is in development for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Bandai Namco did not announce a release date for the game in Weekly Jump, but it shouldn’t be long until we get something official. Perhaps it’ll come alongside the Western announcement, given the immense popularity of the My Hero Academia series in Japan and worldwide.
