Modder turns ‘Pokemon FireRed’ into’ Dragon Ball Z’ fighting game

Just when you thought Pokemon games couldn’t get any more unique, how about adding another franchise into the mix, such as the iconic Dragon Ball Z? A modder by the name of Z-Max turned Pokemon Fire Red into a Dragon Ball Z fighting game. His new version, titled Dragon Ball Z: Team Training, has been in development since 2015.

A new update adds 15 characters and the DBZ battle music. This mod lets players play as a fighter in training, with the object of the game being to collect eight Saiyanbadges and complete your Scouter by “collecting” the game’s whopping 165+ fighters.

All the usual Pokemon characters have been replaced with the anime series’ most popular characters. This has Goku, Vegeta and Gohan replacing Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, and instead of  Professor Oak, he’s also been replaced with Dr. Brief.

You’ll need to download the Pokemon FireRed Rom and add the patch for it to work.
