The latest Monster Hunter movie posters show off both Milla Jovovich and co-star Tony Jaa. Both actors are wielding iconic weapons from Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise, indicating that this movie will do the games justice. The first of the new Monster Hunter movie posters sees Jovovich in her role as Lieutenant Artemis, holding a Giant Jawblade Greatsword.
The second poster shows Tony Jaa in his role grasping the Great Hunter’s Bow.
Both posters show the characters in the movie’s desert setting. This is inspired by Wildspire Wastes, one of the areas from Monster Hunter World. These posters will be available at PAX East this weekend on Feb. 29. Miniature versions will be handed out to anyone attending the Monster Hunter Festa event.
While the Monster Hunter movie will take inspiration from the Monster Hunter game franchise, it doesn’t sound as if it’ll be sticking too close to any story in particular. The movie is being directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, better known for his work on the Resident Evil movie franchise. With Monster Hunter World bringing millions of new gamers to the franchise, it’s likely that this movie will do well in cinemas, even if it does end up developing a cult following like the Resident Evil movies have.
And don’t forget that this isn’t the only movie Capcom has in development.
