The Melty Blood series is making its way to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One with Melty Blood: Type Lumina, and Type-Moon shared a teaser trailer that gives us a first look at the Tsukihime characters in action.
Melty Blood is a 2D fighting games series based on Type-Moon’s 2002 visual novel, Tsukihime. While we still don’t know much about Type Lumina‘s story, it will feature a roster of over 10 characters. In the single-player story mode, each character will have their own unique narratives written by Kinoko Nasu. Confirmed characters include Shiki Tohno, Arcueid Brunestud, Akiha Tohno, and Ciel. The characters will also come with 10 color variations that you can customize.
In addition to new and improved HD visuals, the battle system has been rebuilt from the ground up. Melty Blood: Type Lumina also introduces beginner-friendly features, including a new system called “Rapid Beats” that makes it possible to pull off powerful combos by repeatedly pressing the attack button. Developer French Bread will share more details about the battle system later.
