Type-Moon’s fighter, Melty Blood: Type Lumina, was released last month, but its roster will continue to expand with DLC characters. DelightWorks announced today that the 2D fighter will get new content with DLC, starting this winter through spring 2022.
The Melty Blood: Type Lumina DLC will come in four waves. Each one will include a playable character, a character story for the new DLC fighter, and a battle stage. The preview also shows “TBA” for the pricing, so we’ll find out more about that later, with a possible discount for some kind of season pass for all four.
Additionally, a new Ver. 1.03 update will arrive on November 12, 2021. This update will include bug fixes and balance adjustments for each character. Furthermore, the game will receive more free updates in the future, including training mode expansions and more bug fixes and adjustments. The characters, pricing, and release dates for the DLC will be revealed later.
The roster currently sits at 14 characters, so that’ll bump up to 18 after the DLC characters. The developers surprised fans with Saber from Fate/Zero, Fate/stay night, and Fate/Grand Order as the final base roster character. That leaves it open for another FGO character appear as a guest fighter from DLC.
Melty Blood: Type Lumina is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
