Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection officially announced for Switch

Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection

Yesterday night, the Hong Kong PlayStation store dropped a trailer for the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection. Until today, this collection remained unconfirmed. However, a new post by Capcom employee Kellen confirmed the upcoming title, stating that it would be launching on Switch come January 21, 2020.

The Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection will contain six games (Mega Man Zero 1-4, Mega Man ZX, and Mega Man ZX Advent). Each of these titles will feature an optional Casual Scenario mode, and well as the ability to save mid-level if you desire. A new mode called Z Chaser has also been announced as part of this collection, but no information has been released just yet. I imagine it will be a boss rush of sorts (maybe similar to the Mega Man X/X2 Legacy Collections‘ X Challenge mode).

Pre-ordering the collection will net you a bonus 10 songs in-game. Collectively called the Reploid Remixes, this set of tracks includes a stage remix for each game, as well as four new Music Player tracks. While you have to wait to hear the full tracks, Capcom has released a teaser of this music, which you can find in the video above.

This may not be the Mega Man game fans truly want (we’re still waiting for Mega Man X9,¬†Capcom…), but as someone who skipped over this series growing up, I’m excited to dive into it this January. If you happen to be going to PAX West, all six games in this collection will be available for play on the show floor.
