Mega Man Zero/ZX Collection cart won’t require additional downloads

Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection

Physical collectors rejoice! The physical edition of Mega Man Zero/ZX Collection will contain every game on the series, all on one cartridge. A tweet from the official Mega Man Twitter account put it clear as day that all six games will be playable from boot with no additional downloads.

The Mega Man Zero series is a direct sequel to the Mega Man X franchise. The player takes control of Zero a century after the events of X. There are four games in the Mega Man Zero series across the Game Boy Advance and a collection on DS. The two ZX series games take place after the Zero series and are basically a Metroidvania spin on Mega Man, and they also offer female protagonists.

In recent memory, there have been quite a few game collections for the Switch that required additional downloads. Final Fantasy X-X2 HD Remaster, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and even the physical releases of both Mega Man Legacy Collection 1+2 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 have offered around half or less of the content on the cartridge. Capcom has done everyone a favor here by cutting out the guesswork. Finally a win for the physical collector.

Mega Man Zero/ZX Collection releases on Jan. 21, 2020.
