Idea Factory International will release Mary Skelter Finale this fall in the West for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. The release will conclude the trilogy begun in 2016 as a collaboration between Compile Heart, Dengeki Bunko, and Dengeki PlayStation.
Unlike the bubbly style we’ve seen from developer Compile Heart’s flagship Hyperdimension Neptunia series, Mary Skelter is a dark and grim dungeon RPG starring blood-thirsty maidens. The first game, Mary Skelter: Nightmares, was initially released for the PS Vita in Japan in October 2016. Mary Skelter 2 made its debut for the PS4 in Japan in July 2018. The Switch version of Mary Skelter 2 launched in August 2019, and it included a Switch remake of the first Mary Skelter as free DLC.
While Mary Skelter 2 featured an alternate story to Mary Skelter: Nightmares, Mary Skelter Finale‘s story takes place right after the true ending of the first game. It might sound a bit confusing, but Mary Skelter Finale has a Before Story feature that summarizes the first two games’ stories.
