‘Mario Tennis Aces’ tops the Japanese charts in its first week of release

Mario Tennis Aces released on the 22 of this month and the Nintendo Switch exclusive has already topped the charts in Japan.

In its first week on the market, Mario Tennis Aces sold 123,774 copies in the region. #2 on the charts is Bandai Namco’s New Gundam Breaker, which sold 63,790 copies.

The Mario spinoff has been garnering solid reviews all around. We at Nintendo Enthusiast gave the title a 7.5/10, noting its fun gameplay, stellar visuals, and intense multiplayer.

Additionally, the Nintendo Switch was the best selling hardware for the week. The hybrid system nearly cracked 50,000 units sold with 48,944. This is a slight improvement over last week’s total of 48,602 units.
