With the previous update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Nintendo hinted at an upcoming crossover event for the game, as part of ongoing celebrations for Super Mario Bros.’ 35th anniversary. We finally saw exactly what such a crossover would entail with last week’s Nintendo Direct: a whole bunch of Mario-themed items to spend your hard-earned Bells on! At last, wait not a moment longer, as that coveted Mario update for New Horizons is now available for download.

Version 1.8.0 widens Nook Shopping’s promotional catalog with goods pulled straight from the Mushroom Kingdom. Starting March 1, players can decorate their island home with power-ups, blocks, and other staples from Mario’s history; costumes based on the famous plumber and his friends will also be up for grabs. The best part is that the warp pipes are fully functional, making for a sneaky but handy quality-of-life update! Buy a pair of those iconic green tubes, then you can zip from one part of your island to another. Additionally, downloading the new version will net islanders a free mushroom mural for their house, available right away.
Once Mario’s 35th anniversary wraps up, here’s to hoping another Nintendo tentpole will receive the same treatment during its own 35th anniversary later this year. Animal Crossing: New Horizons x The Legend of Zelda crossover, anyone?
