Mario Kart Tour Cat Tour brings back SNES Donut Plains 2 course

Mario Kart Cat Tour SNES Donut Plains 2

Yep, it’s that time again. Mario Kart Tour is moving swiftly on from the streets of Berlin with the new Cat Tour. The theme is moving back to the Mushroom Kingdom, as the new event ties into Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. That tie-in begins with a classic Mario Kart track returning. SNES Donut Plains 2 makes its way into the Mario Kart Tour Cat Tour, for its first Mario Kart appearance in 20 years. The track of course made its debut in the SNES era as a Super Mario Kart course, before returning in 2001 as part of the track list for Mario Kart: Super Circuit on Game Boy Advance.

Then we move on to characters. Agreeing with the arrival of 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, Mario Kart Tour is bringing some feline friends in the form of cat characters. Cat Peach and Cat Toad make their way into the mobile game, and they feature heavily in its latest trailer. There are some new karts here too and customization options for various characters.

As with any tour event, this tour will last two weeks, meaning it’ll close out just days before Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury drops for Nintendo Switch. This is a cool little tie-in though, and some of Mario Kart Tour‘s events do a good job at linking Nintendo’s games together.
