Mario Kart Arcade GP DX Coming to The US This Year

Mario Kart Arcade GP DX, the latest arcade version of the venerable Mario Kart franchise, is finally making its way stateside before the end of this year.

Released this summer, it also marks the latest in Nintendo’s partnership with Namco Bandai Games on the Mario Kart Arcade series. Aside from the usual motley crew, Namco is bringing in company mascot Pac-Man, as well as Don-chan, the anthropomorphic taiko drum from the Taiko No Tatsujin series, in as racers in the US. The game also boasts the most power up items of any Mario Kart to date, including one that allows two human players to become a power tank that spits Green Shells at other racers.

The game will be showcased in the IAAPA 2013 trade show in Orlando, Florida, and will be distributed soon after that. It runs on Namco System ES3, which likely means it is mostly a PC configuration (if only Nintendo sold this as a PC game). Those of you lucky enough to have an arcade near you may want to ask the owner about getting this machine soon. For now, you can get a  preview of the US cabinet here, and a taste of the action by watching the trailer below.
