Pokémon Home is currently running a promotion with the starter Pokémon from Pokémon Sword and Shield. If you deposit a Pokémon from one of the latest games, then you can get one of three Hidden Ability Pokémon — a Grookey, Scorbunny, or Sobble — at level 5. With the Pokémon Sword and Shield Isle of Armor DLC coming out on June 17, you’ll no doubt be playing the game anyway, so why not make a quick deposit and net yourself an amazing new starter?

The Grookey you’ll get will drop with the Hidden Ability Grassy Surge. Getting a Grookey with this ability has been impossible until now. It creates a field of grass before entering battle, which brings a huge boost to grass-type Pokémon like Grookey.

The Scorbunny that you’ll get will have the Hidden Ability Libero. This Hidden Ability was first added with Pokémon Sword and Shield and makes it so that the user becomes a single-type Pokémon. This adds a same-type attack bonus to each move.

The Sobble that you’ll get will have the Hidden Ability Sniper. This Hidden Ability powers up moves when they get a critical hit, making them deal even more additional damage than they would have anyway.

Be sure to pick up your Hidden Ability Pokémon before the launch of the Isle of Armor so that you can put them to good use.

Started out playing Metroid 2 on the GameBoy at around 5 years-old, and now I write about games all day long. Can't play Switch and drive, I've tried. As time goes on the Switch is quickly becoming my favourite console of all time.
