Yesterday, Yacht Club’s newest title, Mina the Hollower, was revealed during its presentation. It very much looks like an homage to the GBC Zelda games, which means I need to play it ASAP. The publisher put up a Kickstarter for the project so fans could help finance its development and get it made. Well, it’s been less than a day, and Mina the Hollower has already annihilated its Kickstarter goal. I guess having Shovel Knight as a success story paid off!
My body is ready to experience Mina the Hollower in all of its glory
If you take a look at Mina‘s Kickstarter page, you can see it has currently raised $394,229 of its $311,503 goal, with 6,860 backers. Those numbers keep going up as I write this, which is insane. Especially considering Yacht Club gave fans 30 days to fully fund the title. With 29 days to go, I think we can safely say the company’s latest game is going to become a reality.
No word yet on stretch goals for additional in-game content, but users can pledge between $5 and $500 to get a variety of goodies. These include a digital wallpaper, a physical copy of the game, and having your name appear in a secret area. There were also crazy incentives between $750 and $3,000 that let you be a director for a day, but these rewards are no longer available. I guess some folks had a lot of money on hand last night.
