Stunning recreation of Lon Lon Ranch modded into Breath of the Wild

Lon Lon Ranch

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild‘s sprawling, desecrated landscape is rife with ruins and abandoned structures from a far more prosperous age. One such area in the game, the Ranch Ruins, looks a whole lot like the famous Lon Lon Ranch from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. A modder known as Furosukki saw an opportunity in the Ranch Ruins, deciding to mod in a full recreation of the famous ranch into The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The walkthrough video below shows off the very impressive rebuild–give it a look. The design is so organic that you can hardly tell it wasn’t part of the vanilla game.

Taking full advantage of the Switch’s power relative to past Nintendo systems, Lon Lon Ranch’s buildings and windmill are fleshed out in gorgeous depth, and the ranch is crawling with horses. There are a few bugs to work out–Furosukki says that they need to fine-tune the collision detection–and there is still more to be added, such as NPCs and items.

If you are curious to check out the mod, head on over to its GameBanana page and give it a look. Otherwise, what do you think of it? Are you impressed? What classic The Legend of Zelda locations other than Lon Lon Ranch should be modded into Breath of the Wild? Let us know in the comments!
