Limited Run opens preorders for Shantae and the Seven Sirens on May 15

Apple Arcade subscribers may have had a heck of head start, but it won’t be much longer until WayForward’s Shantae and the Seven Sirens finally gets a proper console launch. The game will launch digitally on May 28 on a variety of systems; however, if physical is more your flavor and you don’t mind the extra wait, then Limited Run Games has you covered. Next week, you can preorder physical editions of Shantae’s latest adventure for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, with orders opening up on Friday, May 15 at 10am.

A limited time-only offer

On top of just the standard physical version, Limited Run Games will also open preorders for a Collector’s Edition. For $69.99, the collector’s set you can preorder for Shantae and the Seven Sirens comes with the following extra goodies:

  • Shantae and the Seven Sirens game
  • Reversible 18″ x 24″ poster
  • Commemorative Game Boy cart with acrylic stand
  • 50 Monster trading cards
  • Steelbook case
  • Original soundtrack

Out of all the items in this package, the Game Boy cart definitely adds a cute nostalgic touch, given the series’ origins as a cult classic on Game Boy Color all those years ago. Shame it wouldn’t actually work…

Limited Run Games will start taking orders on their website as of next Friday for four weeks. As the company name implies, this will be your only chance to pick up physical versions of the game, so act fast – once those four weeks pass, that’ll be it! On that note, the distributor is still accepting orders for Black Bird, a variety of Star Wars games, and the recently released and critically acclaimed Streets of Rage 4. I hear that last one is pretty darn great.

Shantae and the Seven Sirens launches on May 28 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Part 2 of the game will become available on Apple Arcade on the same day. Are you looking to preorder Shantae and the Seven Sirens? Let us know in the comments.
