Wind Waker mod transforms the game into a portion of Ocarina of Time

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker mod for Ocarina of Time BigSharkZ

Modders are the closest we’ll get to magicians as far as video games are concerned, fully realizing all sorts of fun or nonsensical “what if” situations like Thomas the Tank Engine in Resident Evil 2. Along those lines, as part of April Fools’ Day earlier this month, modder BigSharkZ created a The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker mod that builds a portion of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time over top of it.

The mod was built over two weeks, changing “Link’s model as well as his items and some animations, Aryll into Saria, Mila into Malon, with multiple custom maps and other model changes, even a custom Navi actor!” It doesn’t stay fully faithful to the Wind Waker visual style, instead intending to find a middle ground between that and the style of Ocarina of Time. The mod will eventually be made available to the public. How much content exactly will be contained in it is unclear, but expect it to be small, since it’s just one person who made something fast for fun. Additionally, Adult Link is currently not possible with existing mod tools, but BigSharkZ is looking into it for the future.
