Smashing: Every playable fighter in Smash Ultimate potentially leaked

super smash bros ultimate nintendo direct leaked

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is less than two months away, yet some people like to spoil surprises. According to a set of leaked pictures posted on website ResetEra, the entire roster of the upcoming fighter has been unveiled. Whether the images are legitimateĀ or not is up to you to decide.

Proceed at your own risk

Potential spoilers incoming. Here is a shot of the alleged roster:

It’s so blurry!

If you focus on the middle panel, you’ll notice seven unannounced characters: Shadow the Hedgehog, Banjo-Kazooie, Isaac, Ken, Mach Rider, Geno, and Chorus Kids.

There are pros and cons to the validity of these fighters. On the pro side, a lot of these characters’ inclusions make sense. Banjo-Kazooie has been heavily requested and Microsoft is on record saying they support the duo’s addition to Smash. Shadow and Ken would make perfect Echo Fighters for Sonic and Ryu, respectively. Fans have been screaming for Geno to make it in, and he isn’t so far-fetched due to Cloud’s presence. Finally, Isaac, Mach Rider, and Chorus Kids are coming out of left field while also a part of Nintendo’s history.

Conversely, these individualsĀ read like a list of Smash fans’ wet dreams. Ultimate looks to be a conglomerationĀ of everything they could hope for, barring Waluigi, but this looks a little too good to be true. Additionally, that’s a really blurry photo that could have easily been Photoshopped.

I’ll leave you with some hope: based on Nintendo Wire’s story, the leaker works for a French marketing firm. There is also a picture of a Grinch cutout from the upcoming animated film that is probably for promotional purposes. That shot contains the roster seen above and is clearer than what I first posted, so all this rumormongering can indeed be true.

I want to believe

Personally, if this is the final roster of Smash Ultimate, I’m ecstatic. I’ve been wanting Banjo-Kazooie in Smash for quite some time now, and the additions of K. Rool and Simon/Richter have already pushed me into the Need-To-Buy-Day-One category of Smash Ultimate fans.

What about you readers? How do you feel about this final roster if it turns out to be right on the money? Let us know below.
