Almost a month after its surprise launch on Switch, Kirby Fighters 2 has gotten a free demo on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Nintendo dropped the news on us this morning via social media. The demo features the beginning segment of the game’s Buddy Fighters Tower, providing a taste of the full experience.
It also contains local and online multiplayer support, which is good, as it’s the main draw with Kirby Fighters 2. This unique party battler launched with little fanfare in September, and we think a demo is a good move. The main game is priced at $19.99, and a free demo could definitely convince players to jump in with the modest price tag.
If you do happen to pick the game up after playing the demo, there are a few worthwhile features to note. The full version contains 22 playable fighting styles, including characters other than Kirby from the series. It also has a proper Story Mode that adds context to the game’s battles, and that supports co-op as well.
Start your ascent of the Buddy Fighters Tower, or fight locally and online against others in a trial of this charming brawler full of punches and puff.

If you played previous games Kirby Star Allies or Super Kirby Clash, you’ll net some rewards in Kirby Fighters 2. So long as you have the save file, you’ll receive some rare in-game hats.
The Kirby Fighters 2 demo is available on the Nintendo Switch eShop now.
