Kirby and the Forgotten Land arrives on March 25, 2022

Kirby and the Forgotten Land release date

Nintendo has revealed the release date for Kirby and the Forgotten Land, which is set to arrive on March 25, 2022. A new trailer has also been released, showcasing a variety of Kirby’s iconic copy abilities and more. In Kirby and the Forgotten Land, you will be going on an adventure to rescue the Waddle Dees from some nasty enemies. The trailer has also revealed that the game will feature a co-op mode, where player one plays as Kirby and player two as the lovable Bandanna Waddle Dee.

We have also gotten a glimpse at the game’s hub world, Waddle Dee Town, which will likely play an integral role in Kirby and the Forgotten Land‘s story. Here, you can take a breather, visit the café, stock up on supplies, play subgames, and more. Additionally, it seems like you are able to talk to Wise Waddle Dee to see which copy abilities are popular at the moment.

About the game

The new trailer revealed a capsule machine located in this town, a gacha-machine that deposits figurines. At the time of writing, we don’t know what this feature will be used for; however, it’s safe to assume that they are one of many collectibles to retrieve throughout the adventure. With that in mind, the adventure itself is seemingly expansive, as there’s a huge world map to explore on the trusty Warp Star. There are coastal bays, sandy wastelands, colorful fairgrounds, lush forests, and possibly more areas to visit, so we’ll have to wait and see. Finally, the trailer also gives us a sneak peek at some boss fights. Nintendo followed this up by revealing two boss names on Twitter: Strong-Armed Beast Gorimondo and Unfriendly Fronds Tropic Woods.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land was announced during last year’s September Nintendo Direct. The first trailer was a huge surprise, as unlike past Kirby titles, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a fully-fledged 3D platformer as opposed to the usual side-scroller. Kirby and the Forgotten Land is scheduled to launch on March 25, 2022, for Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders are set to go live sometime this week. Are you excited for Kirby’s next adventure?
