Key visual novel Loopers headed to Nintendo Switch in Japan in 2022

The 2021 Key visual novel Loopers is getting a Nintendo Switch version in Japan sometime in 2022. The announcement comes from this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine (via Ryokutya2089).

Key originally released Loopers for PC in Japan in May 2021 and for smartphones in July 2021. The scenario of Loopers is written by Ryuukishi07, known for work such as the Naku Koro ni (When They Cry) visual novel series, RewriteIwaihime, and more. As for the artist, it is Kei Mochizuki.

While there currently isn’t an English release of the game, there are plans for English, French, Chinese, and Korean language releases in 2022. Here’s an official translation of its synopsis by Key:

Let’s set out to find a real treasure
Tyler is a high school student who is obsessed with Geohunting, a GPS-based treasure hunting game.
One day during summer vacation, Taira and her friends get drawn into a mysterious incident while out treasure-hunting.
The real and imagined become interconnected. Thoughts are thrown into chaos. Tomorrow becomes today.Swallowed up by a time vortex, they are trapped in a never-ending time loop, repeating “today” again and again. Then they meet other “loopers.”
Simon, the leader, and the mysterious girl Mia.
If they join forces, will they be able to break out from this eternal prison…?

Loopers is available for PC and smartphones in Japan and will be available for the Nintendo Switch later in 2022.
