Mortal Kombat 11 sales

It was just this month when we learned Mortal Kombat 11 would not be receiving any new updates. NetherRealm is perhaps making a new game in its Injustice series of titles since there is a history of the developer switching off between the two franchises. Nevertheless, Mortal Kombat 11 has proven itself to be a popular fighter. Just today, we learned Mortal Kombat 11 sales have topped more than 12 million units around the world.

That is a lot of gamers with a copy of the ultra-violent Mortal Kombat 11

In addition to the announcement pertaining to the latest entry, we have also learned the Mortal Kombat series as a whole has surpassed a whopping 73 million video games sold. Even Mortal Kombat Mobile is doing well, gaining a total of 138 million installs.

Ed Boon, the co-creator of Mortal Kombat, had this to say about the sales figures:

When Mortal Kombat launched nearly 30 years ago, I never dreamed it would grow into the franchise it is today with more than 73 million games sold. We have some of the most passionate fans in the world and we appreciate the support they have shown us over the years.

Dear God, I’m older than Mortal Kombat. Somebody stop the incessant flow of time!
