At today’s preshow for Gamescom: Opening Night Live, Frontier Developments announced that Jurassic World Evolution: Complete Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch. The dinosaur park simulator released back in 2018 on PC and other consoles. The complete Switch version will come bundled with all currently released DLC. That means it includes the three main narrative expansions — Return to Jurassic Park, Claire’s Sanctuary, and Secrets of Dr. Wu — alongside several dinosaur packs and the Raptor Squad Skin Collection.
In Jurassic World Evolution: Complete Edition on Switch, you will construct attractions, as well as containment and research facilities. From there, you’ll bioengineer new dinosaur species that think, feel, and react to their environments. It’s a solid if unremarkable simulator, but it is impressive to see running on Switch. The gameplay shown off in the trailer is real Switch footage, and aside from the usual lower detail settings, it looks pretty good. A virtual Jurassic Park on the go is a compelling thought.
There are multiple ways to play too. You can choose whether to control from above with fairly accessible management options or go hands-on to confront challenges on the ground. There are also some additional aerial options that offer a more action-oriented experience. Multiple stars from the recent Jurassic World films feature too, adding authenticity to this video game counterpart.
Jurassic World Evolution: Complete Edition launches on Nintendo Switch on Nov. 3 for $59.99 and is available to preorder now.
