Jump Force Deluxe Edition will pounce onto Switch this August

Jump Force Deluxe Edition release date August 28 Bandai Namco Spike Chunsoft Nintendo Switch

In April we reported that Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft’s Jump Force Deluxe Edition would be heading to Nintendo Switch at some point in 2020. Well now we have an official release date for the game, Aug. 28. That leaves just a little over two months left to prepare yourself mentally and physically for a new fighting adventure.

Jump Force Deluxe Edition combines characters from many of the biggest anime fighting series, including One Piece, Dragon Ball, Naruto, and My Hero Academia, plus others like Yu-Gi-Oh! and Bleach. Thankfully the Nintendo Switch version packs in all nine of the characters that were released as part of the first character pass for all other versions.

Bandai Namco explains that up to six players will be able to battle it out online in a Switch-exclusive offline 3 vs. 3 mode. This will work via the game’s unique swap-in, swap-out feature for fighters, allowing one player to control a single fighter in a team of three.

Jump Force received middling reviews when it first launched in 2019. However, the caveat with most reviews is that you’ll enjoy it more if you enjoy the TV shows that fighters in the game feature in. Let us know if you’re looking forward to competing in some epic battles later this year in the comments.

Started out playing Metroid 2 on the GameBoy at around 5 years-old, and now I write about games all day long. Can't play Switch and drive, I've tried. As time goes on the Switch is quickly becoming my favourite console of all time.
