Is a Child of Light sequel in the works for Switch?
Ubisoft Montreal’s Patrick Plourde popped onto Twitter Aug. 8 to let fans know that the Switch version of the super pretty platformer RPG was up and running. The photo included the game running on a Switch console and, curiously, a piece of paper with a couple words obscured by the console and “Light II.”
What could it be?!
Nothing in this age of Faceforks, Instantgrammers, and Tweeties goes up on the Internet by chance. So, those of us who enjoyed the original can probably safely start getting excited. If you haven’t played Child of Light–which debuted in 2014 on a number of platforms, including Wii U–the Switch’s “ultimate” version should provide a great starting point. According to an Ubisoft press release Switch players can team up with a friend as Igniculus, main character Aurora’s firefly companion, who can be controlled by another player using a Joy-Con controller. What a time to be alive.
