With sales records and lots of love, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is making waves as Nintendo’s tentpole Holiday game or 2020. It’s a fun departure from the series’ standard, with a focus on action that we do not normally see in The Legend of Zelda. However, while the game might not emphasize the usual assortment of dungeons, puzzles, and intricate action, it still has plenty of respect for The Legend of Zelda. That’s evident from the careful narrative all the way to a handful of little easter eggs, including the one on display in GameXplain’s video below, where Link’s between-mission glides occasionally swap out the famous paraglider from Breath of the Wild for the series’ most potent adversary. Check it out below.
Have you seen any familiar feathery friends pop up while playing Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity yet? A quick straw poll among my friends revealed that at least a few have seen this easter egg.
If you have picked up Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, what do you think of it? If you haven’t grabbed a copy, what are you waiting for? I still haven’t grabbed mine, mostly because I tend to spend Black Friday picking up cheap discounts on games I’ve waited a few years for instead of new releases. That’s what I’m doing this year, but what I bought is a discussion for another time.
