With Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity exploring the backdrop to the apocalyptic narrative and setting of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it’s no surprise that Koei Tecmo wants to toss a little bonus to players who have experienced each game. As such, players who boot up Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild save data on their systems will enjoy a bonus Training Sword weapon. The announcement came straight from Nintendo of Canada during a weekend with plenty of gameplay footage from the upcoming Musou mash-up (you can check out videos of Impa and Daruk in action, and watch the emotional TGS trailer if you want).

The uninspiring name combined with the unconvincing wooden design makes me think that this weapon won’t be too much to write home about, but it’s still a fun little way to show off that you’ve already been battle-tested by Ganon’s armies.
