Hotline Miami Collection smashes up the Nintendo Switch eShop today

Indie World Showcase

Devolver Digital devotees might be pleased with this particular reveal from today’s Indie World Showcase. During today’s Nindies Direct, it was announced that Dennaton Games’ Hotline Miami Collection is launching today for the Nintendo Switch! The bloody neon two-fer compiles both the original Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number.

Originally released in 2012, the original Hotline Miami takes place in 1989 Miami. The top-down game quickly gained renown for its flashy, ultraviolent combat, and garnered a ton of critical acclaim back in the day for its gameplay, presentation, and soudn design. Hotline Miami 2 came along three years later, and both games are already available on a variety of other systems.

Last month, Devolver Digital asked its Twitter followers which of their games they should port onto the Nintendo Switch next. With a ton of responses begging for the Hotline Miami series, I can only imagine how vindicated those fans must be right now! Incidentally, I know they published the Hatoful Boyfriend remake a few years back, so I wonder if that surreal pigeon dating sim will ever be a possibility…

Are you picking up Hotline Miami Collection today? What did you think of the original games back in the day? Let us know in the comments!
