The upcoming Resident Evil movie reboot continues to try to match the tone of the original video games. Some images shared by fan Twitter @ROEnetwork showcase the Scottish Rite Club in Ontario, where filming recently took place. The location will be used for at least the interior of the iconic Spencer Mansion. While it’s not a one-to-one match of the game version, the vibe is there, and it looks like it’ll accurately capture the claustrophobic nature of the first Resident Evil. The staircase will certainly feature in some scares. It’s a shame it isn’t a big central stairway, but the atmosphere is there.

Of course, there’s a chance we could see a grand entrance hall anyway in the Spencer Mansion. Movies often use multiple filming locations, and this could be one of many used for interior shots. Last month, we caught a glimpse of the exterior of the Raccoon Police Department, although interior shots of that location weren’t shown.
Regardless, it’s all looking like it will stick more closely to the games this time out as originally indicated. What would you like to see next from the Resident Evil movie reboot? And what do you think are the odds that the Spencer Mansion is hiding a few secrets?
