Grim Fandango Remastered Switch physical release preorder opens

Grim Fandango Remastered Nintendo Switch physical release iam8bit Double Fine Productions Tim Schafer

LucasArts’ Grim Fandango is one of the most fondly remembered adventure games ever made, so it was pretty baller when a remaster of the game landed on Nintendo Switch back in 2018. Now, iam8bit has gotten together with Tim Schafer’s Double Fine Productions to offer a physical Nintendo Switch release of Grim Fandango Remastered, and a preorder page is up for it now. It retails for $34.99, and it will begin shipping in early March.

The physical Grim Fandango Remastered Switch release comes with a premium reversible cover by Holly Rothrock, an exclusive “O-sleeve” cover by Peter Chan, a golden train ticket, and a matchbook notebook from the Calavera Cafe. And the game itself features high-res repainted character textures, more dynamic lighting, the classic score re-recorded with a live orchestra, concept art, and more than two hours of developer commentary. If you already like Grim Fandango or just appreciate a great adventure game in general, this seems like a pretty good deal.

Meanwhile, we also just reported on how Baba Is You is getting a physical Switch release through Fangamer, for a similar price of $34. It’s great that all these excellent digital releases are getting a chance to shine as physical releases.
