God of War artist shares new Mario Bros. work of art

Raf Grasetti, the artist attached to last year’s God of War, is back at it. Earlier this year, he started a series of pieces that depicted characters from the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster. Of course, however, these depictions were meant to offer a bit of a grounded take with a bit of photorealism flair. Luigi was the subject of Grassetti’s latest work of art. He finally, made his way to the superior Mario brother. The end result doesn’t disappoint.

While the proportions of the body are still intact with what we know for Luigi, such as the large nose and big eyes, it’s as if the animated character we’ve known so long just appeared in the real world. It’s both terrifying and incredible.

Grassetti has now also captured Mario, Luigi, Wario, Bowser, Bowser Jr., and Yoshi in an excellent piece that can be seen below.

Nintendo, if you’re listening, hire Grassetti and make that Mario game. It’d be an interesting project to say the least! Bowser is an absolutely horrific beast and Wario looks like he could still probably take the King Koopa in an arm wrestling match. The rest of his work also won’t disappoint. So, if you haven’t had the chance to admire his gallery of artwork, be sure to check out Grassetti’s Instagram page.

What other Nintendo characters would you like to see in an ultra-realistic fleshy display like this? Let us know in the comments below!
