Earlier this month, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was confirmed as launching later this year. In addition, some improvements were mentioned, like gameplay and control enhancements. Now, Rockstar Games has stated Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is releasing on Switch digitally on November 11. Physical versions will be available on December 7.
The impending release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy is making me wax nostalgic
If you are wondering how the graphics have been improved over these titles’ PS2 counterparts, look no further:
Also, here’s a short trailer showing off the games:
Everything looks nice! I especially like the enhanced neon in Vice City.
Speaking of improvements, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition has plenty. GTAV-style controls, the ability to restart failed missions, high-resolution textures, better draw distance, and enhanced map navigation are just some of the inclusions Rockstar added to the games. For Switch specifically, there is Gyro aiming and touch screen camera zooming, pans, and menu selections. This is to make up for the lack of 4K and 60 FPS the collection will receive on other platforms.
You can pre-order the trilogy at the eShop here for $59.99. A bit pricey for some vintage titles, but hopefully the additions will be worth it for fans.
