God of War artist continues his realistic imagining of the Smash roster

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Raf Grassetti, the talented artist behind God of War, has continued his photorealistic adaptation of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster. Recently, he added Dark Samus, Ganondorf, and Princess Peach to the lineup. These depictions continue his tradition of realizing what these characters might look like outside of their cartoony exterior. Let’s say, for example, you run into Dark Samus’s otherworldy black suit on the street. Grassetti can help you imagine that very strange meeting.

Grassetti even paired his portrait of Ganondorf with the depiction of Link he created weeks ago. And let me say, this is one battle I’d like to see. The Gerudo-born villain appears hulking and rather menacing. If looks could kill, Link would be in trouble.

Grassetti’s roster has surely come together with the most unique takes on the characters of Nintendo’s Smash hit — see what I did there? And, in case you’d like to see what Grassetti’s entire roster looks like to-date…

Would you like to see a blockbuster fighter put together with these combatants in the ring? For now, of course, it’ll have to remain a fantasy. But, who’s to say it could never happen? I’d like to think all options are on the table. Though, I don’t foresee Nintendo parting from its cartoony trademark art styles any time soon.
