Gigantamax Toxtricity officially revealed for Pokémon Sword and Shield

Gigantamax Toxtricity Pokemon Sword and Shield

Pokémon Sword and Shield have been immensely successful thus far, and they’re just getting started. In lieu of a third game or an “Ultra” version, the Switch entries will be supported by DLC. The first big content pack doesn’t drop until summer, but Game Freak is doing smaller updates in the meantime. They’ve just announced their next in-game event, and it will officially introduce Gigantamax Toxtricity to Galar.

Gigantamax Toxtricity comes to Pokémon Sword and Shield

Gigantamax Toxtricity was previously leaked by data miners, but it’s nice to have official confirmation. This massive beast will start popping up in Pokémon Sword and Shield adventures tomorrow, February 6. The event lasts through March 8. If you own Sword, you’ll be encountering the Amped Form. If you own Shield, you’ll encounter the Low Key form instead. However, you can easily get both by joining Max Raid battles with your friends who own the other version. Assuming you have those. Otherwise, you can always trade.

As with other Gigantamax Pokémon, Toxtricity will receive new G-Max moves after transforming. In this case, Electric-type attacks will turn into G-Max  Stun Shock. On top of doing considerable damage, this will poison or paralyze all of your foes. Watch out, Sword and Shield! There’s a new threat in town.
