Proton blast from the past: Remaster of Ghostbusters: The Video Game bound for Switch

I am a huge fan of the original Ghostbusters movie. When I was a boy, I almost wore out the videotape copy I owned because I watched it constantly. Therefore, imagine my gleeful enthusiasm upon learning a remaster of Ghostbusters: The Video Game is heading to Switch later this year.

A semi-sequel to Ghostbusters II

Check out the launch trailer for Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered below:

I get to join my buddies Stantz, Spengler, Venkman, and Zeddemore as a rookie recruit?! This is every dream I ever had in the late ’80s.

Celebrating the 35th anniversary of the first film this year (whoa, I’m old), the video game sees the original Ghostbusters gang teaming up once again to fight paranormal entities running amok in New York City. As a new employee, you join the bustin’ experts on their quest to wrangle phantoms with your Proton Packs before caging them in handheld traps. Every member of the OG team voices their respective personas, so consider this the Ghostbusters III we never officially received. It’ll help stave off tears.

No official release date is available but the title will launch before 2020. Are there any Enthusiasts that are diehard Ghostbusters fans like me? Let us know your excitement for the upcoming HD remaster with a comment below.
