Get up to one year of Switch Online membership free with Amazon/Twitch Prime

Free 12-month Switch Online with Twitch Prime promo now active

Nintendo and Amazon are partnering to give back to gamers with a special promotion for Amazon/Twitch Prime membership. This promo gives Prime members free access to Switch Online for up to 12 months. Here’s the breakdown:

If you have an eligible Amazon Prime membership (this promo is limited regionally), then that automatically gives you access to Twitch Prime. Through that, you can claim three months of free Nintendo Switch Online access. Once that’s concluded, you can claim another nine additional months on top of that once 60 days as a Prime member has passed after your first claim. That gives you 12 months of Switch Online membership, just by being an Amazon/Twitch Prime member.

If you’ve never had an Amazon/Twitch Prime membership, you can either create an account and start a free trial or use your existing Amazon/Twitch account (if you’ve never used a free trial before). Once all that’s done, just make your claim and you’ll be all set.

A Prime opportunity

I’ve already claimed the 3-month offer. Do note that it will hit you with a notice that your credit/debit card or PayPal account will be charged with an automatic renewal fee of $8 if you don’t disable it. This automatic renewal will take place three months after whenever you claim the offer (in my case – my deadline to turn it off is June 24). You can disable it via the Switch eShop.

For those of you that already have a Switch Online membership, you can still take advantage of this offer. It still stack on top of your existing membership—but only if you have an individual plan! If you’re sharing by means of the Family Plan, then you won’t be eligible, so do keep that in mind.

Once you claim the 3-month offer, you have until September 24, 2019, to use it. The 9-month offer can be claimed until January 22, 2020. For more information, check out the Twitch offer page.

This promo expires entirely on September 24, 2019, so you have six months to sign up (as of the time of writing).
