Ganondorf added to Super Smash Bros. 64 roster via mods

A modder named JSsixtyfour has added Ganondorf to the roster of the original Super Smash Bros. for the N64. The mod swaps Captain Falcon out for Ganondorf, but also adds the character’s moveset found in later games. Ganondorf is notably faster (and that fits within the context of the original Smash) and re-balanced, according to JSsixtyfour. The hack is simply called “Smash Remix”.

Check Ganondorf in action down below:

The Legend of Zelda series villain has all of his major moves, but tacked over Captain Falcon’s character slot. Rather than a reskin, JSsixtyfour replaced Captain Falcon with Ganondorf and his moveset. Falcon Punch has been replaced with Warlock Punch, for example. It’s also important to note that it’s very difficult to add in a new character to the existing roster, and character swapping makes the process simpler, but JSsixtyfour aims to add more in the future.

On the hack’s webpage, JSsixtyfour talks upcoming plans with Smash Remix: “The plan is to continue to create new characters and potentially add characters instead of being forced to replace current characters on the roster.” He also notes that Ganondorf will be shown off at an upcoming Smash tournament in Houston on May 31.
