Gamescom: Nintendo reveals Angler’s Tunnel in Zelda: Link’s Awakening

Already, we’re less than a month away from the release of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. With the Switch remake on the horizon, Nintendo of Europe is at Gamescom to show off more of the game to attendees and viewers the world over. For today’s extensive sneak peek, NoE introduced the game’s reimagining of the Angler’s Tunnel dungeon, including its miniboss Cue Ball.

NoE begins their journey towards the game’s fourth dungeon by defeating the sand-dwelling Lanmola in Yarna Desert. In addition to the Angler’s Tunnel, the representatives also showed off more of the remake’s new Chamber Dungeon. Of note, turns out that the last Treasure Chest will always yield the player-arranged dungeon’s Boss Key; you might find yourself clearing prior bosses faster with your new equipment though!

It is also refreshing to see a few more quality of life updates added since the Game Boy original. Much like the sword and shield, items like the Power Bracelet and Pegasus Boots are already assigned to certain buttons. That’s so much better than having to constantly switch out two pieces of equipment!

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening launches worldwide for Nintendo Switch on September 20, 2019. Preorders off the European eShop will yield double Gold Coins as a bonus.
