Fortnite Impostors mode turns the game into an Among Us rip-off

Fortnite Impostors Among Us rip-off Epic Games Innersloth agents Jones

Epic Games is absolutely relentless about ensuring that Fortnite stays timely and relevant with the kids, whether that means adding new modes or putting Ariana Grande in the game. And it’s pretty shameless about it too, which is why Epic has taken a page (or the entire book) from Innersloth’s Among Us and announced Fortnite Impostors, a new mode for a maximum of 10 players that sounds extremely familiar. Eight agents attempt to maintain the Bridge while two impostors attempt to sabotage and eliminate them, and the mode is available to play now.

There is apparently some lore to the game involving the betrayal of Jones, but who cares? It’s just an excuse to play Among Us in Fortnite under the Impostors moniker. Agents will complete assignments like “calibrating chests and llamas, repairing the Battle Bus, and delivering Storm reports for analysis.” Meanwhile, impostors can temporarily freeze progress on assignments, teleport players and impostors to other places to create confusion, and briefly turn everyone into Peely “so you can blend in with the crowd!” So, yeah, for the fiftieth time — Fortnite Impostors is Among Us, but with extra Fortnite-ness.

Epic Games has provided some additional details on what to expect from the game mode if you’re so inclined, but you can probably piece most of it together yourself. One additional thing to know though is that “for a limited time, join the Fortnite Impostors Trials for a chance to unlock a special Spray, Emoticon, and Wrap!” Just remember to thank Innersloth for all the fun you’re having.
