Fortnite has flooded in Chapter 2 – Season 3 Splashdown trailer

Fortnite Splashdown

The Fortnite season 3 update has gone live on all platforms including Nintendo Switch, bringing a flooded landscape to the battle royale title. Now, Epic Games has released the season’s launch trailer, showing numerous changes coming to the game. These include major map alterations, new vehicle types, and a whole new theme. Players will also find other, smaller changes to the formula as we enter season 3, a.k.a. “Splashdown.”

This season focuses on water. The majority of the map has flooded, making way for water-borne transport to take hold. The launch trailer shows powerboats and water skis dominating the landscape, which could provide a unique twist on battle royale traversal. The final shot of the trailer shows cars too, meaning that not all has been submerged in Splashdown.

DC Comic’s Aquaman will join the fray as well, via an appropriately themed crossover. It’s not the first time we’ve seen comic book heroes arrive in Fortnite, of course. Previous updates have included the likes of Batman, Deadpool, and The Avengers in huge crossover events. Aquaman seems to be riding a giant orange fish into battle, while ridable sharks have also been confirmed. Yeah, we don’t know anymore either…

Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 3 is live now. The launch trailer for the new season is available below. Are you still playing Fortnite on Switch?
