Former Shin Megami Tensei staff working on new RPG with school setting

This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine has a teaser for a new RPG with a school setting by former Shin Megami Tensei staff. The full reveal will take place on June 10, so we’ll have a little over a week of speculation until then.

The staff involved in this mystery RPG are described as creators who previously worked on the production and music of the Megami Tensei and Shin Megami Tensei series. The tentative title is “Shin Gakuen RPG,” which translates to “New Academy RPG.” The teaser on Famitsu refers to the creators by the first letters of their last names in S, I, M, and N.

According to the magazine leak from Ryokutya2089, it appears that most of the staff are no longer part of Atlus, where they previously worked on the Megaten games. The teaser didn’t reveal the developer or makers of this new title, but we’ll likely find that out on the June 10 reveal. We still don’t know about the platform(s) either.

It’s worth noting that June 10 is just a couple of days before the start of E3 2021. However, it is also the same date that the next issue of Famitsu magazine is set to publish in Japan, so the reveal could end up coming from the publication. If that’s the case, we’ll likely get a reveal a day or two ahead of time when information from the magazine gets leaked.

Update: There is a teaser website now.
