Former ‘Animal Crossing’ director leaves Nintendo

New Leaf

New Leaf is the last mainline Animal Crossing title released. The game launched in 2012, and has continued to be a success story on 3DS. Fans expect the Animal Crossing team to be working on a new Switch installment, but there’s a key name that won’t be returning for the series’ next chapter.

New Leaf’s co-director, Isao Moro, has left his position at Nintendo. He revealed the news on Facebook, not listing a reason for the departure.

Moro has a great history of development at Nintendo, working on masterpieces like The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and serving as an integral part of the Animal Crossing brand.

We at Nintendo Enthusiast wish Moro the best of luck in his future endeavors.
