Famitsu sales: Mario Golf: Super Rush and Samurai Warriors 5 debuts

Last week was a busy week for Japanese video game sales with multiple new releases, including Mario Golf: Super Rush, Samurai Warriors 5, Scarlet Nexus, and more, and Famitsu has shared its latest software and hardware sales estimates from Japanese retailers during the week of June 21 to June 27, 2021.

According to the latest sales estimates, Mario Golf: Super Rush was the highest-selling single SKU title of the week, with 80,430 units sold for the #1 spot. While Mario Golf was the best-selling SKU last week in Japan (in the UK as well), the best-selling title in combined sales was Samurai Warriors 5, which sold 55,675 units for PlayStation 4 and 38,691 copies for Nintendo Switch to take the #2 and #3 spots. Samurai Warriors 5 has sold a combined total of 94,366 units in its debut.

Other new releases of the week include Bandai Namco’s Scarlet Nexus, which charted at #5 and #9 with 20,160 units sold for the PS4 and 11,008 for the PS5 respectively. Falcom’s The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails debuted at #9 with 11,008 copies sold for the Switch. Lastly, FuRyu’s The Caligula Effect 2 charted at #10 with 10,243 units sold in its opening week.

In hardware sales, the Nintendo Switch sold 58,864 units in addition to 14,087 Switch Lites for a total of 72,951 Switch consoles sold in the week. You can check out the rest of the sales figures from Famitsu below:
