Every 2nd generation Pokémon is getting a ‘Sitting Cuties’ plush toy

Sitting Cuties

A new wave of Sitting Cuties is coming, over 100 of them. The Sitting Cuties line of Pokémon plushies launched last year, bringing almost the entirety of the first generation of Pokémon. Now we can look forward to the entirety of the second generation. Every Pokémon from the Johto region, first introduced in Pokémon Gold and Silver, will now have a plush sometime in September.

Even the often overshadowed Qwilfish, or the forgettable Forretress, will be available in the new line. There’s even going to be 28 forms of Unown: the 26 letters, exclamation point, and question mark, the latter two introduced in generation three.

Sitting Cuties are weighted at the bottom so that they can sit upright, a nice feature for taller creatures. Each plush ranges from about four-to-six inches, perfect for dressing desks and shelves. The first generation of Sitting Cuties included 132 Pokémon, 19 short of the whole first generation. I didn’t count every last one to see who was missing, but strange body shapes like Onix and Bellsprout made the cut. I can’t overstate just how nice it is to see some strange picks mixed in.

Sitting Cuties retail at $10.99, a fair price if you’re a fan of less popular Pokémon. The second generation is my personal favorite, and I’m eager to get my hands on some of these. Best case scenario, the Sitting Cuties line will continue to eventually encompass all 1,000-plus monsters and forms.

Which of your favorites is finally getting a plush? Let us know in the comments.
