Epic Games considered adding Samus Aran to Fortnite

Samus Aran Fortnite

Epic Games has been adding all sorts of characters to its popular battle royale game, Fortnite. Just recently we saw Sony’s Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn make her way into the game. It doesn’t end there either, as we have seen faces such as Lara Croft, Master Chief, and Kratos. Meanwhile, the Epic Games 2020 quarterly business review has been made public, as the heated lawsuit between Epic Games and Apple has caused it to do so. It turns out that Epic Games was planning or at least contemplating adding Samus Aran from the Metroid series into Fortnite as a skin. Nintendo has yet to receive a proper celebration in the game, so it’s unknown whether or not this will ever come to fruition. It’s odd that Epic chose to use a piece of fan art (below) for the presentation though.

Speaking of Metroid, it has been a long time since we’ve heard anything regarding the franchise. Most of you are probably aware that this year is pretty huge for Nintendo, with a lot of franchises celebrating an anniversary milestone. Just like with The Legend of Zelda series, Metroid has turned 35 years old this year. There’s a chance that Samus Aran appearing in Fortnite could be a part of these celebrations, but we will have to wait and see. What do you think of this potential crossover?
