Ed Boon says Mortal Kombat 11 update will drop this week, maybe

Warner Bros

Mortal Kombat 11 has had its ups and downs since its release. There have already been a few patches, changes some of the difficulty to the Towers of Time. This isn’t an easy task considering the game released simultaneously on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. However, the co-creator and long-running frontman of the Mortal Kombat series, Ed Boon, wants you to know that a Nintendo Switch update could come this week, next week, or whatever.

Boon has been fairly vocal on social media regarding updates and when they are to happen. For example, just moments ago he posted the tweet seen below, indicating that a fix will be dropping sometime in the near future. Although he does indicate that it could come as early as Friday, it could also be pushed into the next week or so.

On parity?

There isn’t really a clear meaning as to what Boon says in his tweet. Does the “parity” he speaks of mean tweaks to gameplay and other changes that have rolled out for Mortal Kombat 11 on every other platform? Does he mean visuals? Personally, I don’t really have a point of reference as I’ve only played the game on Xbox One X. However, I will say that I was a bit surprised to find that each character and scene are very well imagined, yet, didn’t seem too graphic intensive for the Switch to not be able to handle optimizations and further improvements on its visuals.

Mortal Kombat 11 is now available for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It is unclear if there will ever be any sort of cross-platform play in the near future. Here’s to simply hoping anything that delivered a quality of life improvement on other consoles is also brought over to the Switch. Soon, or like, whenever they can do it.

Like, right now, right now and not later, later.
