EA Motive reportedly to announce ‘big deal’ established IP revival in July

EA Play Live 2021 Electronic Arts Motive Studios big deal established IP revival Dead Space Jeff Grubb

Electronic Arts announced last month that its EA Play Live 2021 presentation will occur on July 22, but it gave precisely zero details about what games to expect. However, according to GamesBeat journalist and industry insider Jeff Grubb on a video stream last Friday, Motive Studios (also called EA Motive) will announce a “big deal” established IP revival at EA Play Live 2021. No hints were given as to what game property this might be, and EA contains a vast umbrella properties past and present. That being said, there are plenty of people who would like to see Motive Studios tackle Dead Space.

To date, Motive Studios has worked on Star Wars Battlefront II with DICE but otherwise has only shipped flight combat simulator Star Wars: Squadrons, which released to a positive reception on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC with VR options on applicable platforms. Motive is as good a developer as any to revive an established EA IP like Dead Space or any other. (Incidentally, Dead Space creator Glen Schofield is basically busy creating his own new version of the IP right now through The Callisto Protocol, a PUBG spin-off.)

The one thing we can say for sure is that the established EA IP in question is probably not Syndicate.

In EA news that more definitively applies to the Nintendo sphere, EA Original Lost in Random recently received a breathtaking new story trailer.
