Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition releasing in December

There are probably other games out there with longer titles. Today, Koei Tecmo announced that (get ready for it) Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition will see a digital release for the Nintendo Switch. The game will see a much later release date as it launches on December 27, 2018.

The Players

The game features storylines of four main playable characters: Wei, Wu, Shu, and Jin. The story unfolds and surrounds the battle for each of the Three Kingdoms of China.

What’s In A Name?

Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition is a compilation of previous titles and downloadable content. The game includes both Dynasty Warriors 8 and Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends. The downloadable content includes “almost all” that has been released to date, among many of the costume packs and scenarios. There are also a few rewards for anyone who has played the recent release of Warriors Orochi 4. These perks come in the form of bonus costumes for having the save data on your system.

A Strong Dynasty

If you haven’t been following up on the recent releases for the Warriors franchise, you might be surprised in the consistent flow of titles. For example, there have been more than 20 games released since the initial announcement for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There very well may be a possibility of new Dynasty Warriors games coming to the Nintendo Switch. Dynasty Warriors 9 recently released on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. But, if this compilation finds success on Nintendo’s console, we may see more release in the near future.

Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for $39.99 USD. A 10 percent discount will be applied to anyone who purchases the game within the first week of its launch. Warriors Orochi 4 is also currently available in digital form within the Nintendo eShop for $59.99.
