DuckTales: Remastered is back on the Wii U eShop

DuckTales: Remastered

After an untimely delisting back in August 2019DuckTales: Remastered is back on digital storefronts today. Capcom announced the game’s return in a tweet just over an hour ago. The HD update of the classic NES platformer disappeared with short notice last year without much of an explanation as to why it was leaving us. With it returning after only a six month absence, some sort of licensing lapse seems a likely explanation. Whatever claimed it the first time, DuckTales: Remastered is back now, hopefully for good.

The return of DuckTales: Remastered brings the game back to last-gen consoles (as well as Xbox One via backward compatibility) and Steam. The feathery chronicle has quite a rabid fanbase that is sure to be reinvigorated by the game’s resurrection, so don’t be surprised if you see a social media campaign to bring DuckTales: Remastered to Switch pop up over the next few days. As of now, it is unclear if Capcom has any big plans like a Switch port in the works for their lost-and-found remaster. Aside from a 75% off sale, the game left without too much fanfare from the publisher, and so far, its return has been similarly unceremonious.

Did you get the chance to play DuckTales: Remastered before it delisted in August? If not, will you be sure to try it out now?
